Its goal is to create a national database that documents the zoning codes of every jurisdiction in the country.

The project aims to present key aspects of zoning codes in a user-friendly online map and provide a platform for research teams to add and update information on each zoning district.

Most of the zoning code analysis is done by decentralized project teams, but it must be reviewed and verified before being included in the National Zoning Atlas.

The National Zoning Atlas team also conducts additional zoning code analysis.

Position Description

The individual will assist with the creation of the National Zoning Atlas, working under the supervision of the Project Coordinator (Zoning Code), and will be responsible for:

  • Reading and analyzing zoning codes, inputting collected analysis into a standardized database, and contributing to the completion of the National Zoning Atlas.
  • Coordinating with external research teams to collect zoning code analysis information and communicating results to the team developing machine learning processes to simulate human analysis.
  • Assisting in the execution of research projects and reports using collected data.
